New York Ornament: 42nd Street

Some of Midtown Manhattan's Most Beautiful Buildings

With Francis Morrone

We continue our look at the ornamentation of New York’s buildings, following walks on the Upper West Side and the Civic Center/Financial District, with a stroll across 42nd Street where we will examine three sides of the city’s most beautifully ornamented building, the New York Public Library, as well as Grand Central Terminal (outside and inside), some Art Deco classics, too-little-noticed gems such as 501 Fifth Avenue by Montague Flagg, and much more.
