Join us to celebrate our city’s most-reviled residents: vermin. On this walk, we’ll discuss why rats and pigeons are the truest New Yorkers.
Discover how our scrappy, cosmopolitan, and opportunistic non-human neighbors have made the city their home, and the tricks they use to not only survive, but thrive, in an environment built for humans. Our carefully-curated pest propaganda will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the nuisance next door!
We’ll be walking through Sara Delano Roosevelt Park & Liz Christy Community Garden, stopping to spot signs of our non-human neighbors while completing an interactive bingo. There will be prizes! (No animal interactions required.)
Accessibility
This is an accessible walk, we'll be covering two parks across the street from each other. Plenty of seating in the immediate area. There is both Citibike and multiple subway options nearby.
