Revisiting the Accidental Playground: 20 Years of the Greenpoint-Williamsburg Rezoning

Janes Walk

Led By Daniel Campo, author of 'The Accidental Playground' and Associate Professor of City Planning at Morgan State University AND Katie Denny Horowitz, Executive Director of North Brooklyn Parks Alliance

Join us for a waterfront walking tour marking the 20th anniversary of the 2005 Greenpoint-Williamsburg rezoning—one of NYC’s most significant land use transformations. Led by urbanist and author Daniel Campo (The Accidental Playground) and NBK Parks Executive Director Katie Denny Horowitz, the tour explores the post-industrial landscape of the early 2000s and the countercultural forces that shaped it. We’ll reflect on grassroots activism, placemaking, environmental justice, and the evolving role of public space in a rapidly changing neighborhood.

This walk is sold out and the waitlist is full.
