Rockaway: Beach Town at the Edge of NYC

We will walk the Rockaway Boardwalk and take in the history of the beach, from resorts to bungalows to urban renewal to habitat to reinvestment. Opportunities will be provided to get your feet wet and to visit a boardwalk concession.

Accessibility

Walk will be on concrete boardwalk, with optional detour onto sand. Start location is accessible by A and Shuttle trains and Q52, Q53, and Q22 buses. End is accessible to A train and Q103 bus. A Parks van will be available to return participants to the start.

Location Information

RSVP is required and capacity is limited. Meeting location, ending location, and directions will be provided via email before walk date.
