Subway Art

Underground or Elevated, A Variety of Artists and Styles

With Sylvia Laudien-Meo

The MTA Arts & Design program has been turning our subway system into the most impressive free art gallery, commissioning mostly mosaic, tile, glass and metal works by leading international artists. All works are somewhat site specific and many of them are specifically relating to the surrounding neighborhoods and their people. Zoom allows us to take a very comfortable trip around town and have a closer look at some of the most outstanding stations celebrating our city’s diversity. We will discuss the artist’s most famous works, their process and collaboration with specialists to create these remarkable train stations. Registration is now closed.
