Walk will explore the renewal of bungalow blocks in Sheepshead Bay. Residents rely on internal pedestrian alleys for access to their homes. Located below the flood plain, this community was devastated by Superstorm Sandy. Hosts are architects who contributed to neighborhood reconstruction. Walk will feature interviews with homeowners. The walk is a virtual self guided tour (zoom).
Accessibility
Walk is virtual. We plan to provide a map. This area of Sheepshead Bay is accessible by bus but does require an additional 10-15 minute walk. The sites discussed do have ramps for wheelchair access. Parking is on street. We will investigate offering closed captioning on virtual platform (Zoom).
Location Information
RSVP is required and capacity is limited. Meeting location, ending location, and directions will be provided via email before walk date.
