Announcing the Winners of the 2019 #JanesWalkNYC Photo Contest

More than 300 submissions captured sidewalks, skylines, and everything in between

May 30, 2019

On May 3-5, thousands of New Yorkers grabbed umbrellas and took to the streets in celebration of Jane Jacobs and the city we love. From Tottenville to Woodlawn, Coney Island to Riverside, Jane’s Walk 2019 offered more walks than ever before.

We are delighted to announce the winner of our annual photo contest. Brooklyn photographer Robin Michals‘ snapshot of Zulmilena Then from Preserving East New York (and a tiny Jane Jacobs!) leading the New Lots Regeneration walk was selected from a pool of more than 300 incredible images from our festival.

Our second and third place prizes were awarded to Joel Guevara and Alice Sparberg Alexiou, respectively, and we are delighted to welcome all three to our annual Summit for New York City this fall.

Check out the full images from all three #JanesWalkNYC Photo Contest selections below.
