Celebrate New York City and Submit a Jane’s Walk!

Walk submissions will be accepted through March 31

February 15, 2023

A Note from the Jane’s Walk NYC Team at MAS:

Throughout the past few years, many of us at MAS have found ourselves inspired in new and deeper ways by the mission of our annual Jane’s Walk festival. This volunteer-led celebration of urban life, inspired by Jane Jacobs, has always been a time to come together and share our love for this city.

In 2023, Jane’s Walk NYC will feature a variety of socially distanced and virtual formats, including in-person guided group walks, self-guided in-person walks, virtual talks, social media activations, and more. Through a collection of in-person and virtual experiences, we cannot wait to generate conversation about the city and celebrate its vibrant past, present, and future!

Who can lead a Jane’s Walk? You can! Walk submissions were open through Friday, March 31st. For any questions, email janeswalknyc@mas.org.

About Jane’s Walk NYC

Jane’s Walk was founded as a way to celebrate the life and legacy of urban activist, Jane Jacobs, who believed in the power of individuals to influence their city. It now takes place in over 200 cities worldwide, with Jane’s Walk NYC, presented by the Municipal Art Society of New York, as the largest of these festivals. What started as a handful of walks in 2011 has since grown into a weekend of collective neighborhood storytelling featuring hundreds of walks online and across all five boroughs.
