With Matt Postal

The boardwalk is now officially a New York City landmark! Join Matt Postal and learn about this colorful civic promenade and its historic evolution, from the first proposals in the Victorian era to the present day. We’ll focus on how a public boardwalk and beach finally came to be in the 1920s, the important roles played by Edward Riegelmann (for whom it is named) and engineer Philip P. Farley, as well as how these ambitious municipal efforts transformed the surrounding neighborhoods.
