Tom Devaney AICP, MAS Senior Director of Land Use and Planning, will be a guest panelist at the two-day SEQRA 50th Anniversary Conference on Thursday, November 6 and Friday, November 7 in Albany, New York.
The conference is sponsored by Albany Law School and will mark half a century since the enactment of the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), a landmark piece of legislation that has profoundly impacted land use and environmental protection across the state.
Tom, who spearheaded MAS’ 2018 report Tale of Two Rezonings: Taking a Harder Look at CEQR, will be joined by Sarah Yackel, AICP, Principal at BFJ Planning, Nancy Doon, AICP, Managing Director at VHB, and Moderator Daniel Ruzow, Esq., Partner at Whiteman, Osterman & Hanna on Thursday, November 6 at 1:45PM. The topic of the discussion will be the overall scope of SEQRA analysis, what information should be included or not, and how accurate Environmental Impact Statements have been in projecting future development and impacts.
