A look at the historic Bowery from Native American and Dutch times, through its evolution into a rowdy street of saloons and entertainments, its long decline, and its revival as a locale of arts, music, and culture. With its character today threatened by accelerating redevelopment, we’ll examine the Bowery’s changing streetscape, and issues of civic memory and historic preservation. In cooperation with the Bowery Alliance of Neighbors.
